Meet Daisy

Meet Daisy

Meet little Miss. Daisy, our farm’s only dairy cow. Daisy is a Jersey, a dairy breed renowned for their high-quality milk: rich in protein, minerals, and butterfat. Jersey calves have tan hides, big brown eyes, and long eyelashes. We purchased Daisy back in May 2023 for the purpose of becoming our family milk cow. However, it may be fair to consider her part of the family at this point, lol.

When Daisy first arrived at the farm, she was a bottle calf. This means we had to feed her milk everyday out of a bottle, until she was big enough to eat on her own. It wasn’t long before she bonded with us and considered our farm her home.

For us, Daisy was love at first sight. With features resembling those of a baby fawn and an innocence to match. Daisy has been happy and easy-going from day one. She’s playful, but gentle, often putting a smile on our faces. And although given access to rolling hills and green pastures, Daisy’s often found close to the barnyard. It appears Daisy prefers the companionship of humans over that of her fellow bovine.

So needless to say, Daisy is considered one of the family. She’s the only cow on our farm that will follow you around, like a puppy dog, without need for a halter. She enjoys lots of pets and special treats like grain or apples. We look forward to seeing Daisy become a mother this coming year. Her gentle temperament and love for human companionship will make her an excellent milk cow.

We look forward to posting more about Daisy’s journey. And if you’re ever in the area, feel free to stop by for a visit. Daisy would love it if you brought her a treat as well.
